Four Oaks, North Carolina

December 5-11, 2009 / Four Oaks, North Carolina -- Heading south on I-95, we arrived in Four Oaks to discover that what we thought was going to be a nice RV park turned out to be a real disappointment. Called Four Oaks Lodging RV Resort, it was far from a resort. Although it was safe, the appearance was very much the epitome of 'trailer trash'. 

On Sunday, after arriving the previous day, we took a drive to a suburb of Raleigh to exchange a pair of windshield wipers and then headed to Research Triangle Park to see Dupont Electronics there where I had spent quite a bit of time back in the 1980's for a previous job. The plant is still there, but the gate was closed on Sunday so we could only see it from a distance. We then headed a few more miles to Durham, NC and had dinner.

We stuck out our stay at Four Oaks until Friday night. The weather turned very cold during the week and we couldn't wait to get out of there.
