January 16-22, 2011 -- Westwego is on the west bank of the Mississippi river directly across from New Orleans. It is where the Bayou Segnette State Park is located and is one of two state parks we stay in when visiting New Orleans. The other one is Saint Bernard State Park in Braithwaite, about 15 miles south of the French Quarter. We actually prefer Saint Bernard, but the cellular signal is low there making it difficult for maintaining an Internet connection. So we are forced to stay at Westwego this time around. It's actually just fine.
