Murray Hill Walk - May 27, 2012

New York - May 27, 2012 -- For this walk I decided to head east to the end of my street (49th Street) and then south to Murray Hill section of Midtown Manhattan with which I wanted to become more familiar. Murray Hill is a relatively small area between Madison Avenue and the East River and between East 34th and East 42nd Streets. Although the following are not specifically in Murray Hill, this walking route included many well known structures such as

  • The UN Secratariat building
  • The Chrysler Building
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • The Pan Am (now Met Life) Building
  • Sacony-Mobil Building
  • Helmsley Building
  • Colgate-Palmolive Building
  • Exxon Building / Rockefeller Center

This walk was 4.6 miles and took around 3 hours from start to finish due to lots of photo stops. It was a warm and muggy afternoon with lots of crowds in expected locations such as Rockefeller Center and Times Square.
