Thanksgiving 2012
Dinner PlatesNovember 22, 2012 - New York, NY -- We almost didn't do Thanksgiving this year due to Joe being in the hospital, but he ended up getting discharged at the last minute, arriving home around 3:00 PM. He had bought most of the supplies earlier in the week prior to getting sick including a 14 LB turkey. All I needed was the roasting pan and a few minor odds and ends.
On the menu was
- Turkey
- Stuffing
- Mashed Potatoes
- Butternut Squash
- Fresh Green Beans
- Cranberry Sauce
- Pumpkin Pie
Because of the temps required, I prepared and baked the pumpkin pie. While it was baking, I prepared the turkey and stuck it in the oven as soon as the pie came out. It was going to roast for at least the next 3-4 hours. We knew we were destined for a late dinner. When all was said and done, it was 10:30 before we sat down to eat. It was fairly good. I've definitely had better.
